"It's easy to irritate, it's hard to influence," I heard a religious leader say when talking about navigating the space between his divided congregation and trying to be the cement between them.
Yes, I must admit I have many fun moments of eventful discord, irritating and being irritated (on my Facebook page) by those few who fear I might influence someone and who have therefore “hung around” to be irritated by me, and to watch me be irritated by the few I still abide to irritate me.
To be the “glue” that tries to bind us, or even the magnet that tries to bring us closer in this day and age, is so hard because the forces that bind us are weak when there is so much distance between.
So, though the journey may still involve an irritation or two, I’ll see what I can do to try to influence. This is not an easy thing to do in this day and age.
