A close friend of mind lamented the distance he felt from others due to struggles he was having, to measure up. Let's remind ourselves that being kind and supportive to those from whom we don't expect to get money or pleasure, or date and marry, will not tarnish our souls, nor be an invitation to our social ruin, but an accent into common decency.
