Charles "Tex" Watson, 65, is a convicted murderer times seven, a former disciple of Charles Manson, and is serving a life sentence at Mule Creek, California. He has fathered four children behind bars with his ex-wife via conjugal visits.
Welcome to the “Hotel California.” No wonder California is almost bankrupt and houses the largest prison population. If Watson is the poster boy of convicts, California must have the largest population of children fathered by cons. Even a died-in-the-wool improver, like me, can see the folly in allowing cons to have procreating conjugal visits.
Then again, perhaps it gives the guards a break from the routine of their normal surveillance duties. Yes, a little California justice can get you a nice room at the Hotel California.
