Sound Is Touch At a Distance

"Sound is touch at a distance," and there is science to it.  I heard this on NPR (National Public Radio).  It tells us a lot about why we like music, why babies are soothed by a mother's voice, why speeches move us, and why we like the sound of the opposite sex (some more than others), and thus the 1-900 phone businesses, which I can now understand why they are so appealing.
