Utah's Cowboy Caucus Throws a Temper Tantrum

Utah's Cowboy Caucus Throws a Temper Tantrum

Recently the Conservative Caucus of the Utah House of Representatives (Cowboy Caucus) threw a public temper tantrum by taking out a full page ad in the Deseret Morning News against SUWA. The ad asked if "SUWA [Is] Going To Come Forward With Answers" because "Utahns Are Starting To Ask Some Very Tough Questions." This ad referenced the Cowboy Caucus’ request for information from SUWA about two of its trustees that have been convicted of federal security fraud.

Apparently the Cowboy Caucus is so threatened by SUWA and is so effete that like a kid in a candy store denied its favorite treat it had to throw itself down in a screaming, kicking fit in hopes its Mom, SUWA, would be so humiliated by its public display that it’d give in. While SUWA should answer and resolve any questions raised by its (hopefully former) trustees’ misdeeds, it should not cower to these spoiled Cowboy Caucus brats.

Almost all organization, including the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the United States of American and even the Utah Legislature often have had, have and will have, among its ruling members, persons that act less then judiciously. Yet if such organizations are founded upon sound principles, they can and will survive the misdeeds of the few. Hopefully, because SUWA’s goals and ideals are praiseworthy and of good report, it will not only survive but thrive to outlive the momentary shame caused by two of its trustee. Then the Cowboy Caucus’ attack ad will be viewed for what it is, a desperate tantrum thrown because of the power of SUWA’s principles as an entity.

In the meantime, "Utahns" would like to ask the Cowboy Caucus some very tough questions:
1. Did the Cowboy Caucus publish this expensive attack ad because of its heartfelt and sincere concern over SUWA’s well being?
2. Did the Cowboy Caucus use campaign funds or tax money to pay for the ad?
3. What is the Cowboy Caucus doing to ensure that organizations like SUWA flourish so they can ensure that the vital and pristine wilderness of Southern Utah is preserved for future generations?
4. Do any of the Cowboy Caucus’ members have business interests that are threatened by SUWA’s goals to preserve the wildernesses of Southern Utah?

I would sincerely beg the Cowboy Caucus to please answer these questions, so like them, I don’t have to throw a temper tantrum of my own to get their attention!
