I condemn the violence meted out against Dane Hall, who was brutally beaten outside a Salt Lake City dance club hosting a gay night. I am dismayed by any dissonant and ignorant speech that – while it may not provoke such acts – fails to muster up the leadership to let those of baser minds and hearts know that we, as a united community, do not condone such abhorrent behavior, no matter its manifestation, great or small.
