My relatives shared a ranch with another related family. Outsiders wanted to get control over part of it because they wanted to put in an airport. So, they started a fight between them all, allied themselves with a faction, and helped them, by hook and crook, take over the ranch with the deal that they got to build their runway.
Years later, the airport is kind of taking over the place and all the original owners want control over the property.
