The Utah Legislature is considering a bill that would allow the State to use eminent domain procedures to take private property for oil and gas exploration. Hmmm. Isn't this already legal? Isn't that how we, white Anglo Saxons, got the whole freakin’ continent – except for Alaska, which we purchased, because we didn't yet know that gold existed there? Had we known, we wouldn't have purchased it. We would have just taken it through "eminent domain."
Back to Utah: We are doing this because those nasty environmentalists are doing the responsible thing by not occupying land, but buying it. What say ye, conservatives?
