I do not advocate forced governmental birth or population control. I oppose it. I, likewise, decry those who would ban all discussion regarding this issue as somehow sacrilege or beyond dispute. There may be times, places, and individual circumstances in which the greatest act of charity may be in voluntarily refraining from procreating, just as much as the religious sometimes argue that it is a supremely selfish choice to avoid child-bearing. Freewill is not exercised in the absence of choice and discussion, but in the presence of the opposing possibilities.
