We love our super heroes. We love our big boy toys. We love our expensive tomahawk missiles and the sensation that we have truly done “something” because we expended 60 million dollars’ worth of tomahawk missiles and have thereby damaged
Syria's main airport.
However, little babies are still dying. They have been dying there, everyday, for a long time—just not so publicly, but just as barbarically.
Always remember: "by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise." (Book of Mormon, Alma 37:6) Those “small and simple things” are hard to do, but they are more deeply felt, better appreciated, and longer lasting. Such simple things include showing love to those who speak a different language, supposedly pray to a different god, have come from afar, and who require many small acts of service.
We "choose to [sacrifice and give of our love] [and] do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.” ~John F. Kennedy
