When do you stop dreaming?
When you didn’t run fast enough?
When you didn’t make the team, when you didn’t get accepted?
When you didn’t get the job, when you didn’t get the part?
When?
When you got sick?
When you blew out your disk, when your body was wrecked?
When your eyes failed?
When do you stop marveling at a flash of lightning and the roll of the thunder over head?
When do you stop gawking at the rise of a full moon or a burgeoning rainbow?
When do you loose your wonder of the power and beauty of youth?
When do you harden your heart in the presence of a spontaneous act of kindness or dismiss the wisdom of experience?
When do you stop walking?
When do you stop singing?
When do you stop dancing, stop making love, stop not noticing, stop not wanting, not needing, not hoping?
When?
When do you stop loving, stop breathing?
And most of all, please tell me, when do you stop dreaming?
It’s the one question I cannot answer out of all the rest.
So why do so many insist that we do?
