As most people know, I'm no fan of Mr. Donald Trump. However, I am going to make it a point to praise him for positively engaging the political process, exercising restraint when responding to criticism or opposition, accomplishing – in a reasonable manner – his campaign promises, and either abandoning or specifically retracting statements he has made that are cause for concern and alarm.
Mr. Trump, therefore, should be given credit for chastising the Republican leadership in attempting to weaken the investigation and sanction of congressional ethical violations. This is a first, positive step in the right direction. Let's hope there are many more.
