I have now heard several interviews of Evan McMullin. He is an individual who merits all the thinking, rational, moral Republican’s vote. He is a true conservative. He is thoughtful, rational, insightful, has a grasp of national issues, and is morally superior, by all appearances, to both major party candidates. He represents what should be the core positions of the Republican Party.
Many conservatives and Republicans will argue that voting for Evan McMullin is allowing a Hillary Clinton presidency. I agree that may be the case. However, there is a cancer within the Republican Party that, if not eliminated, will either destroy our country (if Donald Trump is elected), or will continue to internally rip the Republican Party apart and encourage the ignorant, the biased, and the criminal to be the driving force within the party.
Whether I remain a supporter of the Democratic Party is irrespective and independent of my belief that our country is better off with two strong, viable, rational parties. At this time, the only moral choice for conservatives and Republicans is, at the very least, a protest vote against Mr. Trump’s candidacy by voting for a third party that better represents their politics. This is the only way that the party can regain its status and composure and be a true force for good.
