Thoughts become words, words become actions, and actions become character. The vile ignorance and vitriol that has poured from Mr. Trump's mouth, and the actions of his past, do not provoke my pride against him, but my reason and spirit of benevolence for all. That is not a matter of political correctness, it's a matter of listening and seeing.
While I would not doubt the faith and sincerity of those Utahans who support him, nor would I question the moral superiority of their lives and examples, I would question whether they have truly looked at the man and his history as much as they have scrutinized his opponent.
Other than the fact he is a teetotaler, has a lot of money and a family who is devoted to him, I find nothing remotely inspiring, praiseworthy, or of good report about the man, and I will not seek after him to be my president.
