India's Pollution – Not a Problem of Too Much Government, Nor Enough Capitalism

Capitalism is a very important and necessary force. It is mainly good at one thing: maximizing profits and all that comes with it – the good and the bad – not much else.

Government is very important and a necessary force.  It is mainly good at one thing: achieving goals that require our collective cooperation.  One such goal is a clean, healthy, and a sustainable environment.

India is experiencing dangerous pollution levels, but is it because they are having a problem with the supply and demand of oil or coal? No. It's a failure of government.

Do industries decide – on their own – to take action that increases cost, but curbs pollution? No, absolutely not. They never have, and never will.

If you want to destroy our government by electing a Molotov Cocktail, vote for Donald Trump – to use him to destroy that and those with whom you have grievances.  However, be prepared for this: a place where government doesn't work.
