I did not vote in a manner that I thought would favor me. I did not vote for those for whom I had a strong love or affinity. I did not vote due to some long-held affiliation with a particular party, nor vote for those I particularly liked, nor vote to make myself look wise among my friends and family members. I voted for candidates I felt were best for my community, for my state, for my nation, and for this earth.
The candidate for whom I voted cannot give me anything that I don’t already have. In fact, given my current position in life, I may have benefitted economically by voting for the other guy.
Nevertheless, I chose not to do so, because the other guy is a threat to freedoms, liberties, and civil rights that I, and all human beings, possess. He is a threat to the very continued viability of the earth.
