I'm posting this for a few people who posted about some prominent Democrats who were "draft dodgers.”
As a veteran, I hold nuanced, relative, and situational sentiments on the issue. For example: With my grade school knowledge and patriotism, I supported, and would have enlisted in the Vietnam war. However, when I became better educated, I turned against it, and would have burned my draft card. Later, I decided that everyone should serve in the military–especially the wealthy and privileged, so their parents won’t take going to war, lightly. I ended up serving three years as a military attorney.
